My Story
I am a proud Houston native with a lifelong love for storytelling and connecting with people. Growing up in a strong Christian household as one of six siblings, I quickly embraced my role as the “princess of the family” and learned early on the value of faith, family, and perseverance. In high school, I served as Student Body Vice President and delivered the morning announcements daily — the spark that first inspired my journey into broadcast journalism.
I graduated from Hightower High School in 2020 in the top 11% of my class before attending the University of North Texas. Originally a walk-on for UNT’s Track and Field team, an injury ended my time on the track but opened the door to pursue my true passion in journalism. At UNT, I maintained a 4.0 GPA, graduated Summa Cum Laude, and grew as a journalist through my work with North Texas Television, the university’s Emmy Award-winning station. I started as a segment anchor, became a live shot reporter, and ultimately fulfilled my goal of becoming a desk anchor. I was honored with a NATAS Lone Star Student Award nomination for a housing story and gained valuable newsroom experience as a digital intern with NBC 5 DFW, where I published more than 100 articles.
In January 2024, I began my professional career at NewsWest 9 in Midland/Odessa as a Multi-Skilled Journalist. Over the past year, I have reported on everything from elections and city government to deeply personal human interest stories — including the resilience of a family overcoming childhood cancer and the inspiring journey of a 95-year-old GED graduate. Each story has reminded me why journalism is my calling: to give a voice to others and capture moments that matter to the community. Alongside reporting, I’ve also produced and anchored multiple newscasts, further sharpening my storytelling and leadership skills in the newsroom.
In March 2025, I stepped into my current role as Weekend Anchor / Multi-Skilled Journalist at NewsWest 9. Every day, I strive to grow 1% better, fueled by my dedication to the craft and the support of mentors, colleagues, and my faith. My mission is to deliver meaningful, impactful journalism to West Texas — whether from behind the desk or in the field.
Outside of work, I’m a God-fearing, passionate, and purpose-driven young woman who loves journaling, reading, and cherishing quality time with my family and my Shihpoo, Nova Bleu. I believe wholeheartedly that what God has for me, no one can take away. He’s given me both the passion and the platform to share stories that matter — and I can’t wait to tell yours.
